June B. Weins, 92, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday September 17, 2013 at a Sioux City nursing home. Funeral services for June will be 1:00 Friday September 20, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. R. Paul Johnston of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home with the family present. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. June B. Weins was born June 7, 1921 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of C.R. and Alice (Ostlund) Stowell. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Sioux City Central High in 1939. June was a house wife and care giver for her entire family. She married Nile A. Weins in Sioux City in 1948 at her mother's home. June was active in the local Sioux City USO programs during World War II in her free time she loved to dance, camp, spending time in her flower garden, spending time with her dogs, but most of all spending time with her family. June was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the various ladies' circles. Mrs. Weins is survived by her daughter Suzanne Pfeister and her husband Jim of Sioux City, Daughter - in - Law Kathy Weins of Lincoln, NE., one granddaughter Katie Hansen and her husband Daniel and one grandson Dan Weins and his wife Tam, one great-grandson Jude Hansen all of Lincoln, NE. One brother - in - law Chleo and his wife Mary Jo of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son William and a sister Eleanor Stowell. Memorial may be given in her honor to Trinity Lutheran Church or Holy Spirit Retirement home which the family would like to thank for all the great care given during June's time there.
