Esther R. Wilson, 98, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at a local care facility. Abiding by her wishes, her body has been cremated. Graveside services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Floyd Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Esther was born the second daughter of Peter and Marian (Taft) Jensen on May 24, 1915 in Sioux City. She received her education in the Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. Esther worked as a finance clerk for the City of Sioux City for 30 years. Esther is survived by one sister, Lillie Balog and one brother, Stanley (Barb) Jensen both of California; two nieces, Marilyn (John) Bartlett and Bonnie (Steve) Crary; two nephews, Rick (Kari) Wilson and Jim (Angie) Wilson; and several other nieces and nephews in California and Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Leslie Holmes and Ed Wilson; one son, James Holmes; one brother, Maurice Jensen; and three sisters, Alice Kerns, Irene Adams, and Edna Wilson.
