Chad was born June 10th, 1977 in Sioux City, the son of Doug Marx and Kris (Fowler) Brown. He graduated from East High School in 1995. Chad attended Arizona State University and completed his degree at American Intercontinental University in Los Angeles with a degree in marketing and design. Chad enjoyed exploring new cities; he lived in Phoenix, Dallas, New York City, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. Chad worked in international sales at Sketchers. He was an independent clothing designer and most recently he worked as a commercial driver for Central Refrigeration Service. Chad was given a huge heart, a warm and kind smile, and a love of fashion. He enjoyed long conversations with family and friends, often helping or motivating someone, or positively changing someone's life along the way. He truly wanted to hear what you had to say. He took pride in sharing his adventures with humor and great description. His second home was Los Angeles where he made life long friends, played beach volleyball, shopped at vintage clothing stores, and used his design skills to create or alter clothing. Chad was passionate about working out and recovery. AA was his family, his church and his hope. His disease was stronger than any them. Chad changed us. He taught us to see beauty, acceptance, and the love that brought family and friends together. His legacy will be sharing these characteristics and changing the lives of others. Survivors include his parents: Doug and Lori Marx of Sioux City and Kris and Mark Brown of Dakota Dunes, SD; sister Melissa and her husband Jarrod DeGeorgia of Dakota Dunes; brother and sister Ben and Corrine Villim of Sioux City; maternal grandparents James and JoAnn Fowler of McCook Lake, SD and Ed and Marva Brown of Paullina, IA; paternal grandparents Jerry and Darlene Marx of Sioux City and John and Arlene Rodeen of Dakota Dunes, SD; niece and nephews: Siena, Jayce, and Tye DeGeorgia of Dakota Dunes and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be his special sober friends Brad Kessner, Arun Bordoloi, and Heidi Dylan. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to the family for Chad's Memorial to Jackson Recovery Center.
