Philip K. Warnke, 75, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Father Michael Erpelding officiating with visitation one hour prior to service time. Philip was born on September 6, 1938 in Rome, NY to Philip K. and D. Elizabeth Gardner. He graduated from Rome High School and later from the University of Denver. He was united in marriage to Charlene Bellman on July 9, 1960 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rome, NY. Philip worked as a Food Service Director at Mercy Medical Center. Philip loved to fish. When ever he wasn't fishing, he enjoyed watching sports, gardening and having a debate with the T.V. over the nightly news. He is a past member of the Knights of Columbus in North Dakota and the Elks Club. He is survived by his wife Charlene Warnke of Sioux City; 3 sons, Philip K. Warnke III of Kearney, NE; Michael Warnke of Minneapolis, MN; and Stephen (Karen) Warnke of Sleepy Hollow, IL; 5 grandchildren Nicolette, Michaela, Brandon, Max, and Emma; and a sister Phyllis (Jesse) Hall of Rome, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
