Farrell Wayne Cliff, 81, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Private family burial will be after services. Visitation will be one prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Farrell Wayne Cliff was born July 22, 1932, in Sioux City, the son of Ernest and Viva (Lace) Cliff. Farrell grew up in Wisconsin and returned to Sioux City. Farrell served in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 4, 1951, until Oct. 15, 1954, during the Korean War. He married Patricia Schulz on Jan. 28, 1956, in Sioux City. He was employed with Guarantee Roofing where he retired in 1999 as a superintendent. Farrell was a member of the Abu-Bekr- Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Grand Lodge of Iowa A.F. & A.M. Lodge 615 and American Legion Monahan Post 64. In his free time Farrell enjoyed fishing, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and working on various projects around the house. Farrell served as a volunteer driver for the Shrine, transporting area children to and from the Shriners' Hospital in Minneapolis. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cliff of Sioux City; six children, Sharrell (Derald) Wright of Jefferson, S.D., Sharon (Mike) Bobier of Sioux City, Douglas (Fiel) Cliff of Sioux City, Ronald (Lori) Cliff of Polk City, Iowa, Michelle (Randy) Christensen of Kalispel, Mont., and Richard (Kristen) Cliff of Sioux City; a sister, Rhadora Gray of Portage, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.
