Harold C. Haller, 92, of West Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Sergeant Bluff, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Arbor Springs, West Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Martha Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Harold was born December 30, 1920, in Chester, IA, to Arthur and Jesse (Noble) Haller. He enlisted in the Navy in October, 1942 and was honorably discharged in November, 1945. He married Maxine March on November 14, 1942, they had two children. Maxine passed away in August, 1955. He married Lorna Riepma on January 25, 1958. They moved to the Oxnard, CA area from 1967 until 1982, returning to Sioux City until 2007 when they moved to West Des Moines. Harold was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church and worked several jobs: Palmer Candy Co, Dura Pack Corp, and at Point Mugu Naval Missile Center in CA for 15 yrs until retirement in 1981. He is survived by his two children, Linda (Garland) Evers of West Des Moines, IA and Dale (Sue) Haller of Congress, AZ, three grandchildren, Brian (Monica) Evers of Ankeny, IA, Tanya (John) Merkley of West Des Moines, IA, and Jeremy (Raquel) Evers of Waukee, IA, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Maxine, two brothers, six sisters, and his second wife, Lorna.
