Curtis C.J. Steckelberg

Curtis, C.J., Steckelberg of Sioux City, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Round Rock, Texas, and is at peace with the lord and his brother Jeff. He was born June 28, 1959 to Elma Law and Robert Steckelberg. He was a firecracker with a compassionate spirit who loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed kayaking and fishing. He worked alongside his father at Bekins Distribution Center and also at the Lincoln zoo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, at Morningside Assembly of God. There will be no visitation. A private burial service will be at a later date. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to his family. Survivors include his children: Mindy Zimmerman, Nathan, Aleathea Mills, Nick, Matt, Jada Newton and 10 grandchildren with one on the way. Curt is survived by his parents, Robert and Elma Steckelberg, two sisters, Jody Hinrichsen and Jamie Steckelberg, numerous nieces and nephews, and his girlfriend Nan Bennett. He will be missed, but we all know he is at peace.
