Rose Bernice Wright

Rose Bernice (Sluyter) Wright, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Countryside Senior Living. Services will be on Monday, August, 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. She graduated mid year in 1940 from Central High School. She married Ralph J. Wright on April 24, 1943 in South Sioux City, NE. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2010 in Sioux City. She worked for Palmer Candy CO., Win Charger and J.C. Penny CO. Rose enjoyed crocheting, canning various things from her garden, keeping a good home, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her 4 nieces Lauri Johns and her daughter Hallie Johns of Sioux City; Cheryl (Cliff) Olson of AK; Janet Skogman of Sioux City; and Karen and Michael DeVaney of St. Louis, MO; a nephew Curt Sluyter of Le Mars and close family friend Rozella (Ken) Zentz and family of Sioux City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers.
