Dallas Dale "DD" Ross

Dallas Dale "DD" Ross, 61, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Rev. Larry Gill officiating. Dallas had a special request to all those who attend his service, "Please wear Nebraska Corn Husker attire." Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, Nebraska. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Dallas was born on December 7, 1951 to Dale and Shirley (Trimble) Ross in Winnebago, NE. He graduated from Winnebago High School and continued his education graduating from UNO with a Teaching Degree and later earned his Master Degree from Wayne St. Dallas was a school teacher/counselor/coach for many years at Winnebago, NE and Torrington, WY. Along his coaching career he accomplished many things, some of which include being named the Nebraska 8 Man All Star Game Head Coach and coached in several Nebraska State Playoff games. He had a tremendous impact upon the lives of the youth he touched. He loved watching all sports, but was very fond of and closely followed Nebraska Cornhusker football and New York Yankee baseball. He enjoyed time at the lake, the out of doors, gardening and yard work, spending time with family and friends and devoted his life to his kids. He is survived by his 3 sons Primo Hallowell of Walthill, NE; Greg Dallas Ross and Scott David Ross of Wyoming; 2 daughters Dani Chaé Ross and Tomi Rey Ross both of Pismo Beach, CA; parents Dale and Shirley Ross of Winnebago, NE; sister Candyce (David) Law of Sioux City; brothers Brad (Crystal) Ross of Winnebago, NE David (Lori) Ross of Dakota City, NE and grandchildren Taylor Ann Ross, Bryson, Jalen, and Chase Hallowell. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Ann Ross. Donations are encouraged to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center and to Hospice of Siouxland in Dallas's name.
