Marvel N. Jones of McCook Lake, South Dakota; passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the age of 85. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Riverside Lutheran Church with Reverend Ed Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church today, Sunday, August 11th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present at 6:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements and online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com Marvel was born on November 10, 1927 in Sioux City to William and Muriel (Collison) Corder. She received her education at Central High School in Sioux City. Marvel married Stewart Earl Jones on June 10, 1947 in Sioux City. To this union, three daughters were born, Rebecca, Karri, and Melissa. Marvel always lived in, or around, Sioux City. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her daughters, quilting, and working around her yard. Marvel was proud of her membership to the Riverside Lutheran Church, and enjoyed the Rebecca Circle, a ladies group associated with her church. Marvel is survived by her daughters Rebecca "Becky" Chicoine and her husband Lyle of Sioux City, Karri Boetger and her husband Eric of Pella, Iowa, and Melissa Leonard and her husband David of McCook Lake, South Dakota; grandchildren Jill Collins and her husband Douglas, Amy Heaton and her husband Jasen, Adam Chicoine and his wife Tara, Erikka Ter Louw and her husband Brad, Kip Boetger and his wife Donna, Kile Boetger, Allison Leonard, and Austin Leonard; great-grandchildren Kayte Akkerman and her husband Matt, Emma Collins, Bailey Heaton, Keegan Heaton, Sierra Chicoine, Logan Chicoine, Emery Ter Louw, Samantha Boetger, and Jules Boetger; and brother-in-law Bernard Bock of Sioux City. Marvel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stewart in March of 1996, sister Phyllis Bock, and three brothers.
