Dorothy Marie Bugg, 83, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her family at a Sioux City Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Chaplain Cheri Johansen officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Dorothy Marie Johnson was born March 30, 1930 in Ft. Dodge, IA to Kenneth VL and Ruth Victoria (Eastberg) Johnson. She always enjoyed telling her birth date as it was unusual. Dorothy graduated in 1947 from Fort Dodge High School. She married Ben B. Bugg on November 24, 1956 in South Sioux City, NE. They made their home in Sioux City, and Sergeant Bluff. Of this union they had 5 children. Dorothy and her husband owned & operated the Sioux Shooting Park, a public trap shooting facility as well as their business, DX Communications, 2 way radio shop that was located behind Truck Haven. Dorothy was an avid bridge player. She obtained life master duplicate bridge status. She enjoyed her Thursday bridge club where she enjoyed winning 1st place a lot of days. She was a winning game player in most every game she played in. She enjoyed years of playing Scrabble with her mother. She enjoyed playing cards and other games with her family. Dorothy & Ben enjoyed many years of camping and sailing the Lewis & Clark Lake on several different sailboats. She was a very experienced 1st mate. They enjoyed taking their children and grandchildren on a sailboat rides. She is survived by her husband Ben B. Bugg, and 5 children, Victoria (Bob) Mayberry of Fremont, NE., Vincent (Barbara) Bugg of Sgt Bluff, IA., Diana (Richard) Yoesel of Rulo, NE., Susanna (David) deBuhr of Cedar Falls, IA., and Rebecca (Kevin) Robinson of Spencer, IA. 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Garnita Johnson of Fort Dodge, IA, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Leonard Johnson, and her dear friend Theo Kelly.
