Cory Bob Nielsen

Cory Bob Nielsen, 36, of Ankeny formerly of Sioux City passed away on July 21, 2013 in Ankeny. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial of his cremains will take place in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with his body present will be on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Cory was born on March 24, 1977 in Sioux City to Bob Carroll and Carole Dean (Amaradio) Nielsen. He attended Akron Westfield Community School. He was married to Angie Martin on April 7, 1997 in Sioux City and to this union 2 children were born. Cory learned construction at a young age from his father who taught him to work hard and always do it right the first time. He later worked for a concrete company in Des Moines, eventually owning and operating his own concrete company, Nielsen Concrete LLC in Ankeny, IA. Cory loved watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, his favorite driver, and Denver Bronco football. His favorite thing to do was play with his dog Chevy. He is survived by his father Bob Nielsen; daughter Savanah Diana Nielsen and son Chance Rebel Nielsen of Sioux City; brother Bobby Joe (Anna) Nielsen of Kemper, TX; sister Kelly Jo (Bill) Christman of Alcester, SD; and special friend Angi Phipps of Ankeny, IA. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, mother, sister Lori Jo Nielsen, and a brother Scotty LeRoy Nielsen.
