Beverly D. Waddell

Beverly D. Waddell, 75, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family in Westfield, Iowa following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Glendale Baptist Church with Reverend Fred Penner officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Beverly was born January 28, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Keairnes) Hughes. She grew up in the Kelly Park neighborhood with family and lifelong friends. Beverly married Duwane Waddell November 19, 1954 at Glendale Baptist Church. They shared a loving marriage of 51 years until his passing in 2005. She was a devoted wife and mother. Beverly liked to participate in farmer markets making pies and other homemade items. She also liked to attend garage sales of all kinds. Beverly enjoyed going to Texas during the winter to be with her brother and cousins. Beverly was a lifelong member of Glendale Baptist Church. She was very active in the ladies aid program as well as other activities of the church. Beverly is survived by two sons, Edward (Glenda) Waddell of Yankton, South Dakota and Elliot (Lauri) Waddell of Westfield; one daughter, Christine Kluver of LeMars; 10 grandchildren, Jason Waddell, Courtney (Ryan) Addison, Heather Waddell, Rebeka (Brett) Moffatt, Tamara (Ty) Schram, Dr. Jaquilyn (Travis) Waddell Boie, Dr. Beau (Mackenzie) Waddell, Jessica (Adam) Krupicka, Scott (Michelle) Kluver, Curtis (Nicole Gradert, fiancé) Kluver; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Anna) Hughes of Westfield; one brother-in-law, Eugene (Karen) Waddell of Sioux City; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duwane; an infant daughter, Karen; her parents, Floyd and Helen Hughes; one brother, Vincent Hughes; and one son-in-law, Arlan Kluver. Pallbearers will be Scott and Curtis Kluver, Beau Waddell, Randy and Milo Hughes, Gary and Dennis Waddell. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
