Brittani J. O'Donnell

Brittani J. O'Donnell, 27 of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Interment will occur at a later date in New York State. Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to the Memorial Service on Saturday afternoon. Brittani was born on September 15, 1985, in Schenectady, New York, to William K. O'Donnell and Wendi Thornton. She graduated from Sioux City East High School with the Class of 2004. In the fall she was planning to attend WITCC in pursuit of her dream to become an attorney, and was already a Notary Public in the State of Iowa. Brittani loved music and art, enjoyed collecting owls, and had an assortment of cardigans even Mr. Rogers would envy. She had an unforgettable sense of humor and a smile that could light up a room. Above all else, she will be remembered as a wonderful mother to Ireland and Mirriam, and for giving the ultimate gift of parenthood to another family. Brittani is survived by her mother Wendi Thornton of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; father William K. O'Donnell of Rotterdam, New York; step-parents Ayla O'Donnell and Brad Hansen; daughters Ireland and Mirriam O'Donnell of Sioux City; Fiance' Christopher Torngren of Sioux City; siblings Raymond O'Donnell of Minneapolis, MN, Jonathan McReynolds of Sioux City, Rain O'Donnell of NY, twin brothers Tristan and Travis O'Donnell of NY, and Hailey O'Donnell of NY; and maternal grandparents Rebecca and Al Hill of NY, Dick and Rose Thornton of NY. Brittani was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Raymond and Margaret O'Donnell and maternal great-grandmother Dorothy Leonard.
