Virginia L. Kowalczk

Virginia L. Kowalczk, 77, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery. Virginia was born the daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Linn) Kowalczk on September 14, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was raised in Leeds and graduated from Heelan High School in 1953. Virginia retired from AT&T in 1985. She worked for the school lunch program and Beyond the Bell for many years. During her retirement she volunteered at the Senior Center as a Senior Companion, the elections, and at the Volunteers in Police. She enjoyed eating out with friends, shopping, traveling, and gambling. Virginia is survived by one brother, Edward Kowalczk; two nieces, Melissa Marie and Catherine Ann; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children in infancy, Kevin and Theresa; and one sister, JoAnn.
