SIOUX CITY, IA | Wayne E. Klapprodt, 67 of Sioux City died Friday, June 28, 2013 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday with the family present 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. all at the church. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel assisted with arrangements. Wayne was born Feb. 11, 1946 in Mountain Lake, MN the son of Elwood and Verda (Hummel) Klapprodt. On Nov. 29, 1969 he married Dorinda M. Denison in Sioux City. Wayne joined the 185th Air National Guard in 1974. He was hired on as a civil service technician in 1975. Wayne retired from the 185th as a master sergeant in Sept. of 1999. He continued working several jobs including truck driving with his son for six years. Wayne achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a licensed pilot. His son, Jeffrey taught him how to fly. He was proud that his grandkids flew with him. Wayne was a scout master for several years and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a member of St. Michael Church. Survivors include his wife, Dorinda; 3 children, Cherlynn Moore and her husband, Wade of Hull, IA, Jeffrey Klapprodt and his wife, Kim Klapprodt of Boone, IA and Aaron Klapprodt of Elk Point, SD; 3 grandchildren, Logan Moore, Allison Moore and Madeline Klapprodt; a sister, Barbara Reese and her husband, Gary of Jefferson, SD; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Richard Denison, Jeffrey Klapprodt, Aaron Klapprodt, Mike Osborn, Bob McKnight and Art Lautenschlager. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Denison, Cherlynn Moore, Wade Moore, Logan Moore, Allison Moore and Madeline Klapprodt
