DoLoris M. Eddington, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Reverend Nea Huggins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. DoLoris was born the daughter of George A. and Emma Smith on February 22, 1925 in LeMars, Iowa. She received her education in the LeMars schools. DoLoris married Gordon Eddington at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City. DoLoris was a homemaker. DoLoris started every morning with a crossword puzzle. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Sioux City Writer's Club for many years. She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was active in circles and preparing funeral luncheons. DoLoris is survived by four daughters, Karen Sue Painter of Sioux City, Carole Jean (Duane) Whitead of Sioux City, Saundra Rae (Randy) Davidson of Sioux City, and Jacalyn Joy (Timothy) Vaughan of Omaha; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; and brother, Wilbur Cook and his wife, Dorothy.
