Neal W. Parr, 76 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at his residence. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be a private graveside service at the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City, Nebraska on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements. Neal was born on December 27, 1936 in South Sioux City, Nebraska to William and Chloe Parr. He received his education in the South Sioux City Schools, graduating with the Class of 1954. Neal served his country in the United States Navy. He married Judy Burns on May 31, 1958 in Elk Point, South Dakota and to this union, four children were born. Neal always lived in the Siouxland area, working at Sioux Tools as a Machinist and continued at Concrete Pipe. He enjoyed hunting, mastering the computer, and keeping in contact with his many friends via the Ham Radio. Neal was an extremely devoted husband, and found his best friend when he found his wife Judy. Neal is survived by his children Laurie Lukken and her husband John of Omaha, Jeff Parr of Sioux City, Rich Parr and his wife Terry of South Dakota, and Jamie Schubert and her husband Keith of Hinton, Iowa; sister Annette Artz of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy just last year on June 28, 2012, and one brother.
