Ronald James McLaughlin, 58, formerly of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his residence in Azle, Texas. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave, in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Galbreaith Pickard in Weatherford, Texas. He was born on Nov. 19, 1954, in Sioux City, to Robert James and Shirley Marie McLaughlin. Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a computer systems engineer for BNSF and a member of IBEW Union. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing and having pool parties with friends. His survivors include his wife, Dana of Azle, Texas; sisters, Jeanne Kierscht of Sarasota, Fla., and Robin Johnson and husband, Pat of Sioux City; and brothers, Danny McLaughlin and wife, Mary of Kansas City Mo., and R.J. McLaughlin of Sioux City. Ronald had numerous friends, nieces and nephews and never hesitated to extend a helping hand to a friend or family member. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard McLaughlin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Catholic Charities 1601 Military Rd.
