Richard "Dick" B. Evert, 81 of Hinton, died on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Grace Evangelical Church in Hinton with Pastor David Steinbron officiating. Interment of the urn will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Dick was born on April 8, 1932 in Sioux City to Richard and Violet (Helm) Evert. He received his education in the Sioux City Public Schools. Dick married Doreen Mason on June 24, 1960 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Dick sold insurance for years in Sioux City, and just three weeks ago, retired from being a Bail Bondsman after 38 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Dick loved the outdoors, and enjoyed yard-work, fishing, and golfing. Dick is survived by his wife Doreen of 52 years of Hinton; daughter Darla (Craig) Clause of West Point, NE; son Dan Evert of Hinton; two granddaughters Jessi Clause of Pender, NE, and Randi Clause of West Point, NE; half-brothers Gary (Lynn), Dennis (Lynn), and Reggie (Janet) Evert, and half-sister Carolyn (Bill) Kahla, all of California; cousin Bonnie (Terry) Bernhardt of McCook Lake, SD; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his mother Violet Budde, father Richard G. Evert, and grandparents Otto and Caroline Helm.
