Kenneth R. Peters

Kenneth R. Peters, 60, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at his residence. Abiding by his wishes his body has been cremated. There will be a memorial visitation Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Ken was born the son of Donald and Esther (Holmes) Peters on November 10, 1952 in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School. Ken married Diane Card on October 12, 1973. Ken worked for Park Jefferson horse track and Sodrac dog track, the City of Sioux City street department. He drove bus for Sioux City Transit for over 25 years, retiring in May of 2002 due to illness. He enjoyed playing cards with friends at Bob Roe's, golfing, and playing poker and hearts. Ken is survived by his wife, Diane of Sioux City; two daughters, Brenda Peters and Becky (Josh) Smith both of Sioux City; one brother, Terry (Judy) Peters of Apache Junction, Arizona; two sisters, Meredith (John) Hanlon of Coral Springs, Florida and Cathy Meyers of Sioux City; one grandson, Christopher; and two foster grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bradley; and two sisters, Phyllis and Kaylinn.
