Alice M. Humphrey, 89, formerly of Sioux City, passed away following a long illness on April 25, 2013 at the Bethany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, Tenn. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 4, 2013 at Morningside Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church with the family present. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Alice was born Feb. 17, 1924 in Sioux City Iowa to Einar and Andrea (Mjelde) Melheim. She graduated from East High School in 1942, and was a bookkeeper for several commission firms at the Sioux City Stockyards. She married Robert A. Humphrey in 1953. Alice was a lifelong member and active volunteer at Morningside Lutheran Church. She loved visiting and spending time with her sons and her grandchildren. Suvivors include two sons, their wives, five granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter: Dave Humphrey and Peg Carver of Sammamish, Washington; their daughters Lauren and Emily; Mark and Nancy Humphrey of Nashville, Tennessee; their daughters Kate (Humphrey) Kennedy, Jenny (Humphrey) Foster, Ellen Humphrey; and Marlowe Foster She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
