Darrell L. Taylor Sr., 68, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital, after a brief illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Darrell was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Primghar, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Edith (Skogsburg) Taylor. Darrell married Mary Murphy Nov. 13, 1962, in Canton, S.D. She died June 28, 2005, in Sioux City. Darrell worked as a sheet metal worker for many years. He then worked for Solar Plastics, and The Boys and Girls Home. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 003. He enjoyed camping, and volunteering at the Milwaukee Railroad Historical District. Survivors include three children: Bobbie Taylor of Omaha, Lori Stewart of Sioux City and Darrell (Julie) Taylor Jr. of Hinton, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Stewart (Amber), Ashlea Stewart, Kelsee Stewart, Ethan Taylor, Austin Taylor and Bailey Taylor; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett Mary Stewart; two brothers and seven sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; brother, Harry Taylor; and a granddaughter, Kayla Ann.
