Gerald H. "Jerry" Fisher, 70, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 3rd, 2013 at Morningside Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom LoVan officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jerry was born June 23rd, 1942 in Sioux City, the son of Herbert and Matilda "Muncy" (Hladky) Fisher. He graduated from East High School. Jerry was a disabled veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Army Guard Unit that was deployed to Vietnam. He married Marcia Mitzner on October 31st, 1964 in Sioux City. To this union two children were born. Jerry worked for the United States Postal Service from 1960-2000. He held office and was a member of the APWU. Jerry enjoyed woodworking and attending his grandsons sporting events. In his spare time he loved to wash and work on his red corvette convertible. Jerry is survived by his wife Marcia of Sioux City; his children: Mike and wife Terri Fisher of Sioux Falls, SD and Jane and husband John Olson of Sioux City; and two grandsons: Drake and Drew Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Muncy Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Drake Olson, Drew Olson, Chuck Dickens, Frank Wingert, Marlan Hill, and Marv Pansegrau.
