SIOUX CITY | Lois A. Gabrielli, 92 of Sioux City, IA died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Longview Home in Missouri Valley, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City with Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Lois was born March 16, 1921 in Sioux City the daughter of Guy and Jenny (Kincaid) Blackford. She was raised in Salix, IA where she graduated from high school. During World War II Lois worked at Cudahy Packing Co. She lived in New York City for two years and returned to Sioux City in 1948. On November 19, 1945 she married Joseph Gabrielli in Sioux City. Lois also worked at the A.I.D. Center, the Public Library and for several grocery stores. Joe passed away April 18, 1962 in Sioux City. Lois loved reading, collectibles and antiquing. She was a member of St. Michael Church. Survivors include her children, Cynthia Haag and her husband, Joe of Omaha, NE, Guy Gabrielli and his wife, Donna of Elizabeth, CO, Aurora White and her husband, Brian of Fredericksburg, VA and Aerin "Joe" Gabrielli of Ashburn, VA; a sister, Elizabeth Adams of Whiting, IA; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Charmaine Gabrielli, grandson, Seth Modlin, brothers, Sidney Blackford, Loren "Casey" Blackford and a sister, Nita Weigel.
