Margaret L. Kersey, 84 of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Nea Huggins of the Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday April 26th at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with family present beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. Margaret was born on March 7, 1929 in Sioux City to Charles and Helen (Meeks) Hindman. She received her education in the Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Central High School with the Class of 1947. She married William Kersey on June 15, 1947 while in Sioux City. To the couple, two children were born, Ann Marie and Darrell. The family moved to Tucson, Arizona, where Margaret worked for over 27 years for the Huges Aircraft Corporation, retiring in 1991. Margaret moved to Virginia from Arizona, and returned to Sioux City in 2011. Margaret was active in her church as well as Guardian of Bethel #2 of International Order of Job's Daughters. Margaret was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers. She was also a member of Chapter AO P.E.O. while living in Virginia. Margaret is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Dean and her husband Richard in California; son Darrell Kersey of California; brother Donald Hindman of Sioux City; sisters Katherine Paul of Sioux City and Barbara Simet of Omaha; grandsons William L Kersey II and his wife Claudia of Nevada and Michael Paul Kersey of Georgia; and 4 great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles M. Hindman and her granddaughter Charlotte Kersey-Potter.
