Bernell L. "Stub" Strohbehn, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. with Military Funeral Honors concluding the service by the US Naval Reserves. Stub was born on May 24, 1921 in Moville, IA to William and Lillian (Steffe) Strohbehn. He graduated from Moville High School. He served his country in the South Pacific in the U.S. Navy Seebees. He worked for 42 years as a Lineman/Engineer for IPS (Mid American Energy) retiring in 1987. He married Dorothy Oder on October 19, 1941 in Moville. He later married Donna Albeck on May 24, 1978 in Moville. Stub especially enjoyed going to the College World Series in Omaha. He had season tickets for 29 years and made friends from all over the country. In his retirement he enjoyed being a handyman, doing all sorts of odd jobs like painting, woodwork and tile work. He was a volunteer little league baseball coach for many years in Sioux City. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Moville. His family and friends were the most important thing to Stub. Stub is survived by his wife Donna Strohbehn of Sioux City; 5 children Linda (Wes) Zellmer of Moville; Pam (Steve) French of Moville; Tara (Tom) Law of Sioux City; Jeff (Michelle) Albeck of Farmington, MN; and Teresa (Gary) Brown of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Pauline and Harold Matthaidess and many aunts and uncles and cousins.
