John M. Kvidal, 79, of Sioux City, passed away, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at a local care facility. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Greg Hanneman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. Marie (Vemundstad) Kvidal on August 18, 1933 in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City Schools and graduated from Central High in 1951. He received his Bachelor's of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in 1958. He also received a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary College in 1962. John retired from his government job as an inventory clerk for the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling several times to Norway and collected old radio tapes. He was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Nordic Male Chorus. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. John honorably served his country in the United States Army. John is survived by one brother, Reinert Kvidal of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary; and one brother in infancy, John.
