Conrad L. "Connie" Logsdon, 77 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at a local nursing facility. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Merlin Schrad as Celebrant. Interment will take place in Beresford, South Dakota following a luncheon. Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning at the church before the mass. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Connie was born on August 24, 1935 in Wakonda, South Dakota to Patrick and Josephine (Heeb) Logsdon. Connie graduated from Irene Public Schools in South Dakota. He worked on the family farm prior to graduation, and for a short time following. Connie served his country in the Army National Guard for 7 years. Connie married Norma Reifenrath on May 24, 1958 in Vermillion, South Dakota. He worked on the construction of the Oahe Dam in South Dakota and farmed in North East Nebraska before moving to Sioux City in 1958. Connie worked at Ben Fish Tire for over 35 years, worked at Gerkin Windows and Gateway before retiring. He worked hard to supply for his family. Connie and Norma later divorced, and in his more recent years, Connie enjoyed a special friendship with Linda Deabler. Connie loved music, and was the Square Dance Caller for several Square Dance Clubs, and was a proud member of the Shirts & Skirts Square Dancers. Connie was also an avid cat lover. Connie is survived by his son Randy Logsdon of Des Moines; son Joe Logsdon and his wife Beverly of Sioux City and their children Aliesha Maddy (Jason) of HI, Janessa Slawson (Hank) of Spencer, IA and Connie's great-granddaughter Zoey; son Conrad A. Logsdon and his wife Jolynn of Sioux City; son Gene Logsdon and his wife Debbie of Sioux City and their children Lisa (her fiance' Justin Galvin) of Holstein and Connie's great-granddaughter Hailey Galvin, Kevin of Sioux City and Connie's great-grandsons Colton and Keytin, both of Sioux City; son Jeff Logsdon and his wife Susan of Lawton and their sons Ethan of WI, Rob and Brett of Lawton; and son Paul Logsdon of Sioux City and his daughters Michelle, Brittany, and Madison, all of Sioux City; sisters Sylvia Bonine of Jefferson, SD and Rosemary Heirigs of Yankton, SD; brother-in-law Dale Schooley of Omaha and Keith Clark of Chicago; sister-in-law Lillian Logsdon of Omaha; and numerous nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold and David, sisters Margaret Schmidt, Eleanor Schooley, and Patricia Clark, sister-in-law Ethelyn Logsdon, and ex-wife Norma in January of 2008.
