Charles W. Birdsell

Charles W. "Charlie" Birdsell, 29, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Charlie was born the son of Mike and Christine Birdsell on March 21, 1984 in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his education in Sioux City, graduating from East High School. Charlie enjoyed cookouts, being outdoors, stock car races, and food. He liked watching The Weather Channel and had a special interest in thunderstorms. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football and the Green Bay Packers. Charlie is survived by his parents, Mike and Christine Birdsell; one brother, Thomas Daniels; sister-in-law, Carrie Birdsell and her significant other, Brandon Schoen; nephew, Perry Birdsell; niece, Rita Birdsell; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Birdsell, Jr.; grandfathers, William Birdsell, Othello "Hap" Hightower, Audry O. Garlock; grandmother, Dorothy Hightower; aunt, Michelle Van Gorp; and uncle Stan Van Gorp.
