Richard "PaPa" Kimble, 59, of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital due to complications of pneumonia. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Heartland Community Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Stockton officiating. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Richard was known by many as Papa. He was born July 9, 1953 in Des Moines, IA to Agnus and Paul Kimble. He attended Roosevelt High School and completed one year of schooling at Des Moines Iowa Technical College. He then followed his dream and became an executive chef. In 1980 he met the love of his life, Marcy Diamond and they were wed in 1981. Out of their 31 year marriage they had two daughters, Megan and Heather. They lived most of their marriage in Iowa but spent nine years in Pierre, SD before moving back to Sioux City in 2005. Rick loved people. He had a wonderful personality and enjoyed laughing and having fun. His passions were spending time with his family and grandchildren, which brought him great joy, and the culinary arts. His hobbies included playing steel guitar, model railroading, and collecting John Deere tractors. He is survived by his wife Marcy; two daughters, Megan and Heather; three step daughters; Son in law, Paul; and grandkids, James, Joseph, Stromie, Pauly, Hayden, Navaya, Bentley, Jaxsen and 5 others. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother; and brother in law.
