SIOUX CITY | Marie B. Pinard, 76, of Sioux City passed away Saturday March 9, 2013, at a local care facility. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Oto, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Marie was born on Sept. 6, 1936, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Tracy and Anna (Gotto) Handke. She grew up in the Oto area and graduated from Oto High School. Marie married Joseph Pinard on Feb. 15, 1958, in Oto. They moved to Sergeant Bluff after their marriage. Marie worked for various businesses in Sergeant Bluff and Sioux City over the years. She had been a member of Nativity Catholic Church. In her early years, she enjoyed watching her husband, Joseph, play hockey and going to her children's sporting events. Marie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Pinard of Sioux City; four children, Mike Pinard and his wife, Rikki of Rosemont, Minn., Jackie Kurth and her husband, Ron of Sergeant Bluff, Lisa Daniels and her husband, Mark of Wayne, Neb., and Carla Logue and her husband, Curt of Allen, Neb.; three brothers and a sister, Ken Handke and his wife, Jane of Correctionville, Iowa, Leonard "Butch" Handke of Anthon, Iowa, Barb Arndt and her husband, Ken of Cherokee, Iowa, and Gene Handke of Lawton, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Troy Pinard, Korisa Pinard, Colton Kurth, Carlee Kurth, Amanda Poland, Aaron (Tracy) Daniels, Lana Kutz, Luke Logue and Cody Logue; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joseph "Buzz" Handke; and a grandson, Travis Pinard Pallbearers will be Troy Pinard, Luke Logue, Cody Logue, Aaron Daniels, Kenny Balstad and Gene Sorensen.
