SIOUX CITY | Mildred M. "Millie" De Harty, 90 of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Emeritus at NorthPark Place. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Whitfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Sylvia Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com . Millie was born Sept. 16, 1922 in Sioux City the daughter of John F. and Flora (Ashby) Milton. She attended East High School. In July of 1956 she married Orval B. De Harty. Millie retired from the Woodbury County Community Action Agency as a senior aide. Millie's doll collection was very important to her as well as family picture albums. She enjoyed playing cards (King's Korner) and penny bingo. In earlier years she enjoyed vacationing with her family. Millie was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church and the church's Ruth Circle. Survivors include 6 children and their spouses, Ronnie (Kathie) Hill of Sioux City, Melody (Gary) Molacek of Omaha, NE, Jamie (Cherle) Johnson of Sioux City, Connie De Harty of Sioux City, Randy De Harty of Okoboji, IA and Cheryl McIntosh of Jefferson, SD; 14 grandchildren, Brian, Rhonda, Ron, Tonya, Brandon, Tina, Chandra, Darnelle, Daniel, Justin, Cody, Damon, Andrew and Michael; 23 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Darlene Milton of Sioux Falls, SD; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Ron Frank Bell Jr., 3 brothers, David, Bob and John Milton and a sister, Dorothy Young. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters. Memorials may be made in her name to Whitfield Methodist Church or Hospice of Siouxland.
