Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Norm was born on March 2, 1943 in Mason City, Iowa to Willis Ray and Louise (Fox) Schwartz. He graduated from East High School in Sioux City with the Class of 1961. Norm was employed by Firestone Stores of Sioux City and Estherville before he opened his own business in 1967, Norm's Used Cars in Sioux City. Norm married Jeanette O. Scheitler on May 23, 1975 in Omaha. In 1977, Norm started his insurance agency with American Family Insurance, and after 35 years of service, Norm retired on December 31, 2012. Norm raced stock cars for over 15 years; he was car #96 on local tracks. He enjoyed BMX bike racing with all his children. Most everyone will know Norm as the founder/owner/operator of Storm'n Norman's Rock n' Roll Auditorium in Waterbury, Nebraska and he'd been inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 with the Spirit Award. Norm's legacy will be his love of classic cars, and it has been this passion of collectable automobiles that has been a priority throughout his life. Those who share his interest may consider the Saturday service an opportunity for a Show & Shine. Norm loved life, time with his family and precious grandchildren. His passion was his classic cars, rock n' roll music, and serving others in the insurance industry. However, when the sudden death of his oldest daughter Jill occurred on Sunday, July 1, 2012, Norm's enjoyment of life subdued. He was, and the rest of the family still is, heartbroken from her passing. The family is comforted knowing the two are celebrating together once again. Left to treasure Norm's memories are his loving and dedicated wife of 37 years, Jeanette Schwartz of Hinton, Iowa; daughter Amy Schwartz and her fiancé Jeff Tebbe of Tampa, Florida and their children Jackson and Katherine Jill; daughter Kim Yonker and her husband Jeff of Atlanta, Georgia and their children Lauren and Pierce; son Kory Schwartz and his wife Stephanie of Elk Point, South Dakota and their children Ravyn and Keatyn; his daughter Jill's children Cole, Max, and Brilee Johnson, all of Sioux City; and mother Louise Schwartz of Laurens, Iowa and Tom Vitzthum. Norm was preceded in death by his daughter Jill, and father Willis. Pall Bearers will be Norm's son and best friends; Kory Schwartz, Butch Gordon, Ben Honomichl, Stan Scheitler, Jerry Swartz and Jim Tymkowicz.
