Kenneth "Kenny" Kjelson, 79, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Kenny was born the son of Joseph and Marie (Wiggerman) Kjelson on July 23, 1933 in Fairview, South Dakota. He grew up and attended school in the Fairview area. Kenny has lived in Sioux City for most of his adult life. He worked for Goodwill Industries until his retirement in 2000. Kenny loved cars and collecting model trains. He enjoyed country music, word search puzzles, and lollipops. He was loved by the staff at Westwood Nursing & Rehab Center and Hospice of Siouxland. He was a tease and enjoyed giving them a bad time but was always very appreciative of the care he received. Kenny is survived by his cousin, James (Bonnie) Wiggerman of Ft. Dodge, Iowa and special friends Frankie (Gary) Sroufe of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vincent.
