William A. "Bill" Grieve, 73, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Bill was born the son of Ray and Ruth (Tile) Grieve on October 17, 1939 in Sioux City. He received his education in the Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High. Bill married Sharon Chappelle on April 17, 1960 in Sioux City. After their marriage they moved to Owatonna, Minnesota for two years before returning to Sioux City. Bill and Sharon divorced in 1985. Bill owned and operated Bill's Crest Oil for 30 years. He also owned and operated the Silver Steer Bar and Grill. Bill also worked at John's Café, and most recently Braunger Foods until his retirement. He enjoyed working on cars, Hot Rod magazine, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and also coaching softball and baseball. He was one of the founders of SYA. Bill enjoyed time with his family and family cookouts were important to him. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Bill is survived by one son, Kevin (Sherry) Grieve of Sioux City; three daughters, Kim Grieve, Kristin (Brent) Ruhrer, and Kalie (Johnny Johnson) Putnam all of Sioux City; one sister, Donna Grieve of Chicago, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack.
