Seth Erwin "The Bear" Scott, 55, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. John Lutheran with Reverend Gregory Hanneman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online Condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Seth was born February 15, 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Erwin and Margery (Hansen) Scott. The family moved to Sioux City in 1958. Seth married the love of his life Elizabeth "The Mouse" Riedmann on September 3rd, 1976 in Sioux City. Seth went to North High School and received his GED from Midland College in Fremont, NE. He completed his Nursing Degree from WITCC in 1986. Seth's favorite saying was "I'm a jack of all trades, but a master of one". Seth worked for Millwright, grain mills, construction, and most recently nursing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanics, and carpentry but the joys of Seth's life were his kids, grandkids, reading and movies. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Scott; Children: Danielle (Bobby Jo) Giersdorf, Seth (Tiffany) Scott, Aaron (Stephanie) Scott, Andrew Scott, and Racheal Scott; Grandchildren: Christopher, Erwin, Cindy, Gabrielle, Matthew, Brandon, Natalie, Hailey, Sara Beth, and Evelyn; sisters: Anne Marie (Willie) Lyman Petty, JoEllen (Don) Holthaus and Lori Figueroa. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stephen, sister Catherine Anderson, nephew Michael Scott, cousin Richard Scott, and best friends Mark and Richard Riedmann.
