Conrad "Connie" Lee Seaton, 83 of San Jacinto, California, formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Ralph Shorey officiating. Abiding by family wishes, cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the funeral home with family present at 5:00 p.m. Connie was born on March 12, 1929 in Moorhead, Iowa to Wilbur and Ruth (Lister) Seaton. He received his education in the Mapleton, Iowa area before helping his father on the farm. Connie moved to Sioux City at age 18 and began his career in the dry cleaning and laundry industry. He married Dora Bata and to this union, two children were born, Jack and Connie Marie. Conrad enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing, all of which he included his family. Connie lost his first wife to an early death. He married Theresa Silvas on November 9, 1957 in Elk Point, South Dakota. To this union, three girls were born, Sonja, Romi, and Daniela. Connie continued to grow his dry cleaning business, having won an award with the Sioux City Chamber Of Commerce for Equal Opportunity Award, and after 42 years of service retired in 1998 at the American Mastercraft Cleaners in Sioux City. Following his retirement, Connie and his wife Theresa relocated to California. Connie enjoyed dancing, playing tennis, watching and driving in stockcar races, and was an avid bowler, of which he has countless trophies. Connie was proud to coach and umpire the Concordia Lutheran Church's Slow-Pitch Softball Team, was a past President of the Eagle's Club in Sioux City, where he also enjoyed cooking and running of the Bingo games. He was a past member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux City, along with the St. John's Lutheran Church in Hemet, California. Connie was a member of the Moose Lodge of San Jacinto, California. While in California, Connie enjoyed his retirement by building his own home outside San Jacinto in the foothills of the mountains. He stayed busy with gardening and constant home improvement projects. Connie is survived by his wife Theresa Seaton of California; sons Jack Seaton of Wisner, Nebraska and Rick Seaton of California; daughters Connie Marie Wolfe of Heron, South Dakota, Sonja Wyant and her husband Tom of Mapleton, Iowa, Romi Pettersson and her special friend Brian Davis of Sioux City, and Daniela Doenhofer and her fiance' Bob Gant of Sioux City; extended family Kevin Montgomery and his wife Deb of Indianola, Iowa; brother Butch Seaton and his wife Nancy of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters Beverly Summerlin of Sioux City, and Sharon Johnson and her husband Rodney of New Mexico; son-in-law Scott Pettersson of Sioux City; 26 grandchildren; and 78 great-grandchildren. Connie was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Dora, brothers Keith and Curtis Seaton, and sister Darlene Wilde.
