Lorna M. Haller, 87, of West Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Sergeant Bluff, died peacefully Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Glen Oaks Alzheimers Special Care Center in Urbandale, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Martha Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2013 with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Lorna was born the daughter of Bert and Clara (Ebrecht) Riepma on December 22, 1925 in Maurice, Iowa. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1943 and married Harold C. Haller on January 25, 1958 in Sioux City. They lived in the Oxnard, California area from 1967 until 1982. Lorna worked for SS Kresge Co. for 9 years and Sears in California for 10 years. She was also an Avon representative until retirement. She liked playing cards, especially cribbage, eating out, going to garage sales, traveling and camping. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Lorna was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; two children, Linda (Garland) Evers of West Des Moines, Iowa and Dale (Sue) Haller of Congress, Arizona; three grandchildren, Brian (Monica) Evers of Ankeny, Iowa, Tanya (John) Merkley of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Jeremy (Raquel) Evers of Waukee, Iowa; five great-grandchildren, Angela and Alanna Evers, Ashley and Avery Merkley, and Jose Evers; and two nephews, Rick (Pearl) Guy of Omaha, Nebraska and Wayne (Terri) Guy of Hinton. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
