Richard O. Brown, 85, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at a Sioux City hospital. Private family services will be held at a late date. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Richard was born on July 22, 1927 in Salix, IA to Otto and Bessie (Lee) Brown. He attended Sioux City Schools. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was married to Juli Walsh on July 5, 1947 in Sioux City. To this union 2 children were born. He was later married to Norma Uhl on June 13, 1980 in Sioux City. She preceded him in death on June 16, 1997 in Sioux City. He worked for the Sioux City Community School District as a bus driver. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He also enjoyed doing yard work. He is survived by his daughters Cathrin (Dave) Watterson and Carla (Doug) Curtis both of Sioux City; 6 grandchildren Andrea (Ricardo) Ruiz, Wyatt (Stacey) Hagan, Jeffrey Watterson, Daniel Watterson, Eric Curtis, Carley Curtis and significant other Jake Anderson; 13 great grandchildren and a brother Daryl (Beulah) Brown of North Sioux City, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, 4 brothers John, Raymond, Marvin, and Donald and 2 sisters, Rose and Helen.
