Sharon K. (Dyer) Ray, 71, of South Sioux City passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Regency Square Nursing Home in South Sioux City, NE. Graveside services will be on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Rodger Prois officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Sharon K. (Dyer) Ray, 71, of South Sioux City passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Regency Square Nursing Home in South Sioux City, NE. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Sharon was born on March 23, 1941 in Sioux City to Clarence "Jim" and Florence A. (Hutchinson) Dyer. She graduated from East High School in 1960 where she was a baton twirler for the East High Band and was a Chris Harrinton Tap Dance member for 10 years. She attended Business College in Omaha, NE. She was married in 1963 to Walter Ray in Sioux City. She moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1963 where they lived until she moved back to South Sioux City in 1971. She worked at Matney Nursing Home for 5 years and at Regency Nursing Home for 20 years, retiring in October of 2012. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She loved to read and pass the books to her family and friends and was a doll collector of many different collections. She is survived by her sister Karen (Al) Saltzman of Beatrice, NE; nieces Christy (Aaron) Burger; Candice (Nick) Simmons; great nephews Teegan and Caleb all of Beatrice, NE; sons Kenny of Seligman, MO and Richard of Bakersfield, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Micheal. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Siouxland.
