Ardith Ione Thompson, 60, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her residence. Service will be on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Westlawn Presbyterian Church with Pastor Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Ardith was born on February 29, 1952 in Akron, IA to Harold and Eldora Kleihauer. She graduated from Akron High School and earned her BS degree from USD. She was married to Ronald John Thompson on April 9, 1988 in Akron. She worked as a bookkeeper in the payroll department for Penn National at the Argosy Casino. She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls and Wizard of OZ figures. She was the current President of Women Aware and long time board member. She was also a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church where she was a Seated Elder and church Treasurer. Ardith is survived by her husband Ron Thompson of Sioux City; father Harold Kleihauer of Alcester, SD; 2 brothers Harlan Kleihauer and Gordon (Rita) Kleihauer both of Akron; a sister Audrey (Bob) Hubner of Pipestone, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
