M. Judith Rosfjord

M. Judith "Judy" Rosfjord, 83 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at a Sioux City Hospital. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Rev. Tom LoVan officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. and family present from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Rosehill Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa. Judy was born on August 27, 1929 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Thadeus and Alfreda (Busch) McDonnell. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. She was a homemaker and in her younger years she was a nurse's aid. Judy was married to Donald Rosfjord on August 14, 1949 in Marshalltown, IA. He preceded her in death in April of 1997 in Sioux City. In Judy's younger years, she was a very talented seamstress. She was devoted to her family, especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to keep up on current events and politics. Judy loved to go shopping with her family and enjoyed reading. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the company of her dog Sophie. Judy is survived by her 7 children, Mark (Lonnie) Rosfjord of Pocahontas, IA; Craig Rosfjord of Eagle Lake, MN; Susan Dean of Sioux City; Chris (Betty Ann) Rosfjord of Esterville, IA; Celia (Terence) Mulroy of Sioux City; Penny Rosford and husband Jim Bruggeman) of Sioux City; and Emily (Kevin) Wilder of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren Shelly, Carrie, Sarah, Heidi, Seth, Camille, Christopher, Ryan, Jill, Jacob, Jordan, Dan, David, and Walter; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Rod McDonnell and a sister Joyce Archie.
