Clyde R. Doren

Clyde R. Doren, 76, of North Sioux City passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Clyde R. Doren was born March 10, 1936, in Arlington, S.D., the son of Floyd "Steve" and Evaon (Wyant) Doren. Clyde married Virginia Weaver in March of 1954 in Sioux City. Mr. Doren was employed with MidAmerican Energy as a gas service man for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. In his free time, he was captain of the Shrine Cycle Corps and past Master of Riverside Lodge. Clyde was a past member of the Boys of 68, the Moose Lodge in Sergeant Bluff. He volunteered many years for the Shrine Circus and was a social member of various organizations within the Shrine Temple. Clyde played the drums in various bands around Siouxland and loved to play softball and bowl. Survivors include his wife, Virginia of North Sioux City; three sons, Mickey (Angela) Doren of Ortonville, Minn., Terry (Nancy) Doren of McCook Lake, S.D., and Danny (Leisa) Doren of Sergeant Bluff; two brothers, Gaylord (Eleanor) of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Craig (Barb) Doren of Sioux City; one sister, Deanna (Earl) Lovell of Urbandale, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Patty Doren of Ponca, Neb.; two grandchildren, Mark Doren and Melissa Smith; six stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Jenna, Travis, T.J., Amie and Holly; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Madison, Tyler and Rilee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard "Dick" Doren.
