Leo M. Ehli, 86, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-7 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Leo was born on March 22, 1926 in Selz, ND to Martin and Mary (Ripplinger) Ehli. He served his country during World War II in the US Army. He was married to Mary Weist on October 24, 1950 in Harvey, ND. He worked for J.C. Penny for 42 years. Leo enjoyed fishing, golfing in his younger days, playing cards, listening to country music and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Leo is survived by his wife Mary Ehli of Sioux City; 3 daughters Connie (Jim) Smith of Woodbury, MN; Peggy (Jim) Lind of Waterloo, IA; and Susan Boutwell of Sioux City; 5 grandchildren, Allison Lind, Sarah (Danny) Smith, Abbi Boutwell, Elizabeth Smith, and David Smith; 2 sisters Irene Johnson of Jamestown, ND; and Frances (Harold) Derhak of Minot, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers.
