Selma M. Corey, 91 of Sioux City, died Friday, October 26, 2012 at a local care facility. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wed. at St. Thomas Orthodox Church. Rev. Lucas Rice will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday all at the Church. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Selma was born Dec. 9, 1920 in Millboro, SD. She was the daughter of Nick and Marina (Abdouch ) Corey. She grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska before coming to Sioux City. She worked at Joseph's Market for many years. Selma was a member of the St. Thomas Orthodox Church and the Ladies Club. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards. Selma is survived by 2 sisters: Margaret Kott of Sioux City and Joyce Ablan of Lacrosse, WI; a sister in law: Blanche Corey of Sioux City. She is also loved by all of her nieces and nephews. Selma was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Pat Saunders, Pat, Brian and Larry Corey, Jason Untrauer, T.J. Corey and Tyler Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Orthodox Church.
