Jeffrey Earl Bunce, 52, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Paul Speidel officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the 1st Sqdn, 113th Calvary, Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Jeff was born April 8, 1960, the fifth of six children of Robert Lee Bunce and Anna Laura (Cannady) Bunce. Jeff attended Sioux City public schools and graduated from West High School in 1978. Following graduation, Jeff served three years in the United States Army as a member of the elite 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He worked for many years at Sioux City Brick and Tile Company and in recent years at Alorica and Bomgaars. Jeff was an avid reader, a trait that he inherited from his mother. He also was an avid cribbage player once being dealt a perfect hand by his brother, Bruce. An accomplished amateur mechanic, Jeff could always be counted on to help friends and relatives repair their vehicles. He grew up as a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church. Jeff is survived by his mother, Anna Bunce of Sioux City; one sister, Gayle (Marv) Couron of Sioux City; four brothers, Keith, Bruce (Kim), Rick (Sandy), and David (Nancy) all of Sioux City; one Aunt, Judy (Larry) Kelting of DeRidder, Louisiana; five nieces; four nephews; sixteen great nieces and nephews; and his other brother, Steve Herfel of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Robert; and one nephew, James.
