Beatrice C. Boettcher, 69, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Indian Mission, with the Rev. Meshack Mabuza officiating. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in McCook Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and will continue until service time Friday at St. Paul's Indian Mission. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Beatrice C. Boettcher was born on Feb. 7, 1943, in Wagner, S.D., to Lawrence Oliver and Ida Gertrude (McBride) Gray. Beatrice married David Boettcher in 1972. They later divorced. She was employed with IBP on the trim line, but her main job was family care taker. In her free time, she loved to play bingo, being with her friends at bingo, spending time with her family and grandkids, and watching the grandkids participating in sports. She loved to watch football and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She enjoyed going to the riverboat, cooking and spending time with her friends, sisters, best friend, Betty Taylor and everyone at church. She was a member of St. Paul's Indian Mission and the Yankton Sioux Tribe. Survivors include three sons, Charlie Boettcher and his fiancee Stacy Petersen, David Boettcher and his wife Riki, and Rodney Boettcher and Tracy Verdoorn, all of Sioux City; three daughters, Dawn Watkins of Akron, Iowa, Bridget Gray of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Norma Gray of Lake Andes, S.D.; a brother, John Gray of Lake Andes; three sisters, Stephanie Cournoyer and Rita Gray, both of Lake Andes, and Bernadette Patterson and her husband, Albert Tweedy of Sioux Falls, S.D.; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bernadine Provost; a grandson, Chase Boettcher; and a granddaughter, Elia Gray.
