Bertha Elizabeth "Bert" Yaro, 92, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Bickford Cottage. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in the Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Bertha was born on March 25, 1920 in Sioux City to John and Bertha Bradley. She graduated from East High School. Bertha was a floor supervisor at JCPenney for many years. After retirement from Penneys, she worked part time at the Hallmark Gift Store in the Marketplace Shopping Center. She enjoyed spending time with her children of whom she was so proud. Bertha was an award winning quilter and enjoyed sewing and doing needlework. She also had a passion for baking and flower gardening. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Jim) Henry of Sioux City; son Garry (Ann) Yarosevich of Hood River, OR; daughter Linda (Dick) Dixon of Sioux City, 4 grandchildren, Jason Henry of Midland, MI; Dru Dixon of Bozeman, Montana; Sheena Mercural of Sioux City; and Tamie McDaniel of Vancouver, Washington; and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
