Douglas Alan Goeckeler NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD | Doug "Priest" Goeckeler, 46 passed away September 14, 2012. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Dakota Valley High School auditorium, 1150 Northshore Drive, North Sioux City, SD, with viewing from 1-2 p.m., and fellowship after. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements. Condolences may be posted online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Doug was born in Kansas City, MO, where he first became a dedicated member of the New Apostolic Church. He was in a priestly ministry in Ainsworth, NE and Sioux City, IA. He was a conductor and engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. Doug was a devoted servant of the Lord. He enjoyed traveling to different congregations as a child and as a servant. He enjoyed serving the Lord by opening his home and helping those in need. He was a loving husband and father and always enjoyed spending time with his family. Doug is survived by his wife Tracey (Wiggam) Goeckeler of North Sioux City, SD; children Darrell (12) and Trina (11) Goeckeler of North Sioux City, SD; mother Virginia Goeckeler of North Sioux City, SD; brother Theodore Goeckeler III of North Sioux City, SD; sister Kathleen Inness (Kevin) of Kansas City, MO; nieces Heather Inness of Kansas City, MO and Bailey Gentry of Cheyenne, WY; nephews Heath Rorris of Chicago, IL and Tyler Gentry of Cheyenne, WY. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the New Apostolic Church Sioux City building fund.
